Hi Camille, I am linking here from your comment on my blog ... it's a different site I see. Anyway - re the bomb shelter. I'm afraid I may have put you a little awry. That is indeed what K called it, but I believe it is more likely to be world war 2 relics - a left-over from when the NZ coast felt under threat from Japanese invasion. They were gun or cannon battlements ... I really must look into the history of them a little more. Fascinating eh?
